Final Shoe Shop- I Promise

Recently I seem to have a obsession with shoe shops So far this is my favourite of them all, the idea and concept of this interior is simple and basic. But has the biggest impact and is aesthetically pleasing shoe shop that I have ever seen.
It is created by Japanese designer and Nendo founder Oki Sato for the new Camper store, opening in New York.
This interior has over a thousand white plastic shoes, that just looked like the they have been copied and pasted all around the shop.

He explains that he choose to do, and his reason for this was to fill the shop at the walls around the ceiling. As were looking bare, and he wanted something that would have a impact. The thousands of replica shoes, allow the current season of Camper shoes with stand out more compared to the white shoes. And are at a height, where the customer does not have to reach for them, this allows the shop to be user friendly.

Below is the link to the Dezeen page, where Oki Sato explains more about the interior he created and there is a video.

Another Shoe Shop

After finding the previous Shoe shop on Dezeen, it brought up a couple more shops that caught my interest and ones that I feel are unique and something you would not see everyday.

This one has a rainbow of coloured cords that streak across this trainer shop in PoznaƄ, Poland, and the interior was designed by designers Mode:lina Architekci. The rainbow cords are against an all grey shop, which in itself is a simple, but aesthetically pleasing sight. The splashes of colour reach from floor to ceiling along the shop. The grey background also allows the hundreds of trainers/sneakers stand out to the customer.

Below is the link to the Dezeen page, where it explains more about this shoe shop with splashes of colour.

Shoe Shop

While doing my usual scrolling through Dezeen the other day, I came across this Footwear shoe shop in SantiagoChile. This interior was created by Move Architects.

Move Architects designed 140 wooden supports with x-shaped profiles and inserted them into corresponding CNC-cut indentations on a large sheet of plywood mounted to the back wall of the shop.

Move Architects has used the limited space provided, excellently well. Stacking the shoes boxes in the way they have, allows more floor space for customers and staff of the shop. I like how they kept with the shops logo and made their design in the way, this shop has its logo.

Interior Design Trends 2014

With my interiors I like to know what is on trend and what will be coming up in the the seasons or ahead for the future. Whilst researching into trend, I noticed a lot of all black interiors were featuring. Personally I love these and I think they have drastic effect.

I have collected some pictures from my board on Pinterest to show you. I do love this look and is physically striking, I feel it has something about it. As long of the lighting inside these rooms is beneficent. Otherwise they could be too dark and not have the same effect.

Interior Review

Before Christmas, I was given the task of giving reviews on an exhibition, a magazine and an interior review. This is my review on the Interior I went and viewed, the interior I viewed was Revolution bar on Collingwood Street, Newcastle upon Tyne
.
Revolution bars are part of a well-known chain, which cover most of the main cities in the UK. But to me this bar is my favourite; not only being in my home town but the interior is amazing.

It is a spectacular drinking space, with 22ft high ceilings, sculptured marble pillars and artwork adorning the walls. This is really a major standout on a city thrown in impressive drinking dens. Whether having a drink, or something eat you will become captured by the sheer beauty of the place. Before becoming one of Newcastle’s successful bars, it was originally an old bank with its vaulted ceilings and marble features. To see that Revolution has kept this location to its central roots to Newcastle, it is a magnificent venue.

Article Review

Before Christmas, I was given the task of giving reviews on an exhibition, a magazine and an interior review. This is my review on an article I read, this article was in the magazine Elle Decoration.

My review was on the article Grey Matters on Page 220:-

I really enjoyed reading the article Grey Matter, the article is beautifully constructed and laid out. The layout allows the reader to be indulged into this wonderful new-build Dutch home. I personally love the quote describing the home owner, Inke van den Berg’s home. ‘Gentle grey tones, rich textures and a clever blend of style, inject warmth and character into this new-build Dutch Home.’

That quote describes Inke’s house wonderfully, as scrolling through the pictures of this home, you can see van der Berg’s style tranquility especially from all the grey hues, she has used throughout. I love the paint she has used on all the walls throughout her house. The paint she used is Pure + Original’s fresco limepaint in Elephant Skin.

Exhibition Review

Before Christmas, I was given the task of giving reviews on an exhibition, a magazine and an interior review. This is my review on the exhibition I attended, this exhibition was being held in Newcastle Upon Tyne in the Globe Gallery, and was part of the Design Event mart 2013.

My review was on Daniel Schofield’s Pendant Light:-

After returning from the Globe Gallery, I could not get how elegant and beautiful Daniel Schofields Arundel Pendant Light was. The light itself was inspired by the road in Sheffield, which is where they get their name from and where they are made. Arundel Street was once the heart of Sheffield’s metal working industry with the road full of machine shops. Though today only a handful of craftsmen remain. Daniel clearly has a passion for furniture, lighting and other accessories; his exploration of materials allows him to use a range of different materials and finishes in his products.
